Terrifying Rather Than Pleasurable was originally painted in 2020 by Priscilla Hunter. This 450 x 450mm print is a reproduction of the highest quality, printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm stock. There is a 50mm wide white border around the outside of the image.
The imagery from this painting was used to create the textile seen in the Terrifying Rather Than Pleasurable Dress and Terrifying Disco Fringe Headband.
“Terrifying rather than pleasurable” came from a recount describing the effects of ingesting the beautiful yellow bell-shaped flowers depicted. This is the Brugmansia plant, otherwise known as Angel’s Trumpet.
